Emeris – City, Cape Town has a vacancy for a Part-Time Lecturer in the following module:

Semester 1

• UX Design 2A

Key Responsibilities

Prepare for lectures based on provided content. Supplement content with own expertise. Deliver assigned modules to the stated outcomes and contracted hours. Mark student assessments and provide constructive feedback. Support student academic success by implementing workshops where needed. Perform academic admin, such as capturing assessment marks and reporting on student success. Provide content feedback. Engage with professional development opportunities and attend initial training sessions.

Job Summary

Lecture based on provided content, ensure students are guided and supported in their learning. Mark student submissions and engage with campus teaching and learning

Requirements

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Ideal:

NQF 8 or higher qualification in UX Design or Interaction Design with at least two years of industry experience as a UX designer and a portfolio demonstrating skill as a UX designer.

Alternatively:

NQF 8 or higher qualification in Digital Design, Multimedia Design, Information Design, Graphic Design or Communication Design with at least 2 years industry experience as a UX designer OR certified completion of an IXDF, GetSmarter, Udemy or equivalent short course in UX Design.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

At least 2 years industry experience as a digital, UX or Interaction Designer. A solid foundation in web design, and UX design is key. The candidate is required to have a layered portfolio demonstrating her/his ability to engage with intermediate design challenges and his/her experience and knowledge of the skills listed above.
